The project for the new Generali Campus on Via Bassi in Milan redefines an entire urban area through a strategic intervention capable of combining identity, landscape and innovation.
The intervention builds a unified and layered architectural organism capable of dialoguing with the contemporary transformations of the Garibaldi-Repubblica area and the consolidated urban fabric of the Isola district.
The campus is configured as an integrated system of public and private spaces, offices and services, articulated between an iconic vertical component and a horizontal landscape base. The architecture thus interprets a new business park model: open, permeable and relational, where work is intertwined with urban space and a collective, contemporary dimension.

Urban landmark and integration with the context
The project identifies a recognizable vertical landmark that dialogues with the Milan skyline, without sacrificing continuity with the Isola neighborhood. The project builds a balanced relationship between metropolitan and local scales, mending the relationship with the context through accessible, permeable and public spaces.
Volumetric stratification and unitary organism
The campus master plan is based on a logic of layering and articulation of volumes: tower, horizontal plate and landscape build an integrated system. The whole overcomes the logic of building summation to configure itself as a coherent campus, capable of organizing functions, paths and relationships in a flexible and efficient way.
Subtractivearchitecture and spatial dynamics
Three-dimensional landscape and public space
The project works on the theme of excavation and subtraction, generating a complex and vibrant spatiality. The metaphor harks back to the works of Arnaldo Pomodoro: compact surfaces are incised to reveal an articulated interior, transforming the tower and basement into open, traversable urban devices.
The landscaped basement is configured as a system of gardens, patios and open spaces that are developed on several levels. The greenery becomes a structuring element of the project, building a three-dimensional park that connects interior and exterior and defines new places of relationship and sociality.
Regeneration and architectural identity (redevelopment version)
In the redevelopment variant, the Campus works by subtraction and stitching, maintaining the existing volumes and unifying them through a new continuous glass surface. This light and vibrant device redefines the image of the complex, generating a dynamic and changing identity, capable of reflecting light, seasons and internal activities.
