The Sixth Eni Office Building in San Donato Milanese represents a cutting-edge model of corporate architecture, shaping a Campus of Research and Innovation.
The complex, articulated into three interconnected horizontal towers and a large central plaza, reinterprets the traditional vertical tower as a fluid horizontal organism integrated with the urban landscape.
Architecture, open spaces and community converge into a functional, open and inclusive ecosystem that combines operational efficiency, flexibility and high energy performance, with LEED Gold certification, offering an international benchmark for sustainable workplace design and innovation-driven corporate environments.

Vision and Identity
The project interprets Eni’s identity through an architecture-landscape that dialogues with the history of Metanopoli and the legacy vision of Enrico Mattei. The three towers emerge from the ground as flows of energy and radiate into the landscape, shaping the large central plaza-cave.
Each tower is autonomous but integrated into an overall system, creating visual and functional continuity and regenerating the surrounding area with an open and inclusive approach. The sculpted basement simulates the geological stratification of the land, and accommodates the common functions of the campus.
Architecture and Community
The complex hosts flexible office spaces for over 4.600 workstations, executive areas, an auditorium, meeting rooms and collective services. Bridge walkways, courtyards and roof gardens connect the towers, transforming daily work into a collective experience.
Spatial organization balances rationality and dynamism, providing clear circulation and adaptable environments capable of evolving with the demands of innovation and collaboration.
Technological and Engineering innovation
Double-skin facades with parametric metal-framed cladding ensure energy efficiency and control of natural lighting. Green roofs, photovoltaic panels, and natural ventilation systems reduce consumption and support the overall sustainability of the complex.
The bridge between Icon Tower and Landmark Tower uses advanced lattice truss structures, while the integrated building systems strategy ensures efficiency, reliability, flexibility, and centralized management, optimizing both performance and long-term maintenance costs.
Sustainability and territorial impact
The Sixth Eni Building embodies integrated sustainability, combining passive and active sustainability strategies, optimized water management, and indoor and outdoor environmental comfort.
The complex strengthens its relationship with the urban context, contributing to the regeneration of Metanopoli while enhancing historical memory and reconciling contemporary innovation with identity and landscape.
Research, method and digitalization
Advanced digital design, with BIM and 3D modeling, enabled structural and performance optimization, simplified on-site management and future maintenance, ensuring world-class architectural and technological quality.
